Lodging has become very limited in the village of Lake Placid due to an overwhelming response.  Please reserve housing before registering for convention.

If you prefer more traditional housing in hotels and motels, these may be found in Saranac Lake and Wilmington which are beautiful quaint towns located within 12 miles of Lake Placid.

A complimentary shuttle service will be provided from official convention hotels as well as properties added in the village of Lake Placid and towns of Saranac Lake and Wilmington to the Conference Center at Lake Placid.

A per room deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to guarantee each room. Deposits will be accepted via MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Purchase orders and checks will not be accepted.

Hotels will not honor tax exempt status for charges paid by personal credit card. For those paying with district credit cards, tax can be removed at hotel check-in with presentation of a signed exemption certificate (NYS Department of Taxation and Finance ST-129).

For payment by district check, send the check, a copy of the tax exempt form and confirmation(s) to the hotel at least two weeks prior to the first arrival date. Hotels will not apply check payments that have not cleared the financial institution.  If a balance is due upon check-in, a credit card will be needed for method of payment. It is recommended to take a tax exempt form to check-in.


Hotel cancellation*:
  • Cancellations received by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 will receive full refund of the room deposit, minus a processing fee of $10.
  • Cancellations received after Wednesday, September 27, 2017 will result in forfeiture of entire deposit.
  • All cancellations must be sent in writing to Kristin Strack via e-mail (kristin@lakeplacid.com) or fax (518) 621-3658 by Friday, September 15, 2017. Any cancellations made after September 15, 2017 need to be done with your hotel directly. A cancellation confirmation email, to the email address on file, will be generated for every cancelled room.

  1. Visit www.amtrak.com to buy tickets.
  2. Use Lake Placid, NY (LPD) as the “To” destination to determine if service is available from your preferred station.
  3. This trip includes train service to the Westport, NY Station. When you arrive at the Westport station, a curbside coach service is included in the ticket price and will take you to the High Peaks Resort, 2384 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, NY. This portion of the trip is approximately 45 minutes.
  4. If you are not staying at the High Peaks Resort, a taxi service can be arranged to take you to your hotel. Call Rick’s Taxi, (518) 523-4741.
By Air
  1. Fly into Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK), located in Saranac Lake, NY and rent a car from Hertz for a 25-minute drive to Lake Placid or arrange for ground transportation through Bob at Polar Express by calling (518) 327-3331. Fly Cape Air between Saranac Lake and Boston (BOS) – choose from three daily flights.
  2. Fly into Albany International Airport (ALB), located in Albany, NY and rent a car from Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz or National/Alamo for a 2-hour drive to Lake Placid or arrange for ground transportation through Bob at Polar Express by calling (518) 327-3331.
  3. Fly into Burlington International Airport (BTV), located in Burlington, VT and rent a car from Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Dollar, Enterprise, Budget, Hertz, National or Thrifty Car for a 2-hour drive to Lake Placid or arrange for ground transportation through Bob at Polar Express by calling (518) 327-3331.
  4. Fly into Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG), located in Plattsburgh, NY and rent a car from Avis, Budget, Enterprise or Hertz for a 50-minute drive to Lake Placid or arrange for ground transportation through Ground Force 1. Fly Pen Air between Plattsburgh and Boston (BOS) – choose from three daily flights.
Parking
  1.  All of the hotels in the Convention block offer complimentary parking for overnight guests.
  2. 140-space municipal parking lot for $5/day. Location: Corner of Main St. and Olympic Drive, next to the Conference Center.
  3. Three parking lots along Main Street with a 2-hour limit. Location: before and after Starbucks, 2490 Main St.
  4. Metered parking along Main Street with a 2-hour limit.
